Would you ever consider plastic surgery because you feel so ugly?

plastic surgery
Snowy asked:

Be brutally honest, no one can see you. Let’s say you felt extremely unattractive and have been called ugly in your life many times, would you consider getting plastic surgery so you can look better and gain more confidence? Since nothing else like makeup, haircut, still won’t make you look better? It may sound vain but would you if you felt so miserable?

    I have,
Personally, I used to feel terrible about myself because I was terribly fat (about 5 yers ago) but I grew determined and started excersizing and eating right, both my body and face shaped up nicely.
I got less pimples on my face and I trimmed down a lot (Lost about 30 pounds)

Besides I figured it was much easier than submit myself to something as painful as plastic surgery, besides if the doctor screws up, /you´re screwed up/ for life.

    I hope I helped,

I used to want to get a nose job so badly. Now I think my nose is a lot smaller then I originally thought so I would not get plastic surgery.

No because there are always other ways to make yourself look better. You could get a totally new hair style, a whole new wardrobe, a new makeup routine, lose weight, or even go to counseling.

no, but i would consider slugging the idiots who call you names. ugly is what they are. i am 52 and i look in the mirror and i see that there are lines and firmness is going in my face. it makes me a little sad and i look at pictures of me when i was younger and think, wow i wish i looked like that again. but, even if i could afford it, i probably would not do it. please don’t be influenced by what other people think. you can’t compare yourself to anyone and the only person you need to please is yourself. beauty starts in the brain. you have to believe you are beautiful and beauty is not a cookie cutter thing. there are so many types of beauty. i think you need to stay away from people who make you feel bad about yourself.

No. Well, I actually have thought of getting lipo because I seriously think I am like the fattest chick in school (even though I know that’s not true), but I did get over that.

    Frankly, yes.

I know a lot of people say they wouldn’t…but think about it. If you really had that low of a self-esteem, if you had no friends because everyone thought you were ugly…you’d have a pretty messed up self-image. It’s torture to be bullied. And people who have dealt with that will often go to pretty extreme measures to meet these people’s expectations so they stop making fun of them. If the bullying is about them being ugly, that’s obviously going to be the first thing they’ll try to change.

But plastic surgery won’t give the person a happier outlook on life. They’re still going to find flaws in themself. Other people are still going to bully them about one thing or another because it’s not about the victim, it’s about the bully’s insecurities and problems.

yes, if that is the only way I can feel self esteem. Just remember feelings that come can also go. Best use the time to develop a very positive personality that will carry you to the end of your time.

Well I’m happy with my looks, but in a hypothetical situation if I was so extremely unhappy with my looks I guess I would consider plastic surgery.

Plastic surgery isn’t going to fix the deeper issues on the inside though, like lack of self confidence.

No. I think some people are very weak minded. I have never seen a person that was soo hideously ugly. Some people call others ugly because they are jealous. And believe it or not if you are insecure about yourself people can sniff it a mile away, and they will try to tear you down even if you are not ugly, because people are cruel, and insecure themselves. Plus if I had the money I would rather help someone out in life rather than be soo vain about it. After all you are going to die someday no one is going to care how you looked when you die.
