Why are Asians criticized for getting plastic surgery when whites do it too?
People say that the Koreans and Japanese often get plastic surgery to look more white and people seem to look down on this. Yet whites often get plastic surgery for bigger breasts, buttocks, liposuction, and they often get collagen injected into their lip and tanning is widespread. Can’t this be considered procedures taken by some whites who want to look more ethnic or stereotypically black (ie. full lips, round bottom, dark glowing skin, etc)?
I’m not taking sides but it seems like there is a double standard.
Some people have been too quick to cry racism when I’m not labeling anyone as trying to be white or black, etc. I’m just stating common views of others and something that others have suggested. I don’t mean to offend anyone with this question.
It’s called hypocrisy. Maybe one day the people of this country will stop hating one another b/c of Race or Nationality.
everyone gets criticized for getting plastic surgery. and most asians aren’t trying to look more white. same with whites trying to look black by getting lip injections or butt implants. seriously how racist can you be?
What do you think about people like Michael Jackson? Many people from every race does plastic surgery, not only whites or orientals. You should think before submit anything. And orientals do not go for plastic surgery to look like whites (we already have white skin), just some people make their eyes bigger (but not case of most orientals thou). Even blacks or arabs have bigger eyes, dont you think so? So why are you not saying that orientals want to look like them? Why blacks go for thinner nose or bleach their skin – Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson etc.? To look like a sheep?
I don’t know the reason why but it seems as though Whites get less ridiculed than any other ethnic group for their actions. The only thing I see Whites get ridiculed a lot for more is racism and that’s it.
Did you know that many American men spend money on enlarging their genitals through plastic surgery? It’s not just women getting breast implants. So it appears that Whites are more obsessed about size than other groups.
Well normally when Asians get plastic surgery its because they want to look “white”, straightening their nose, double eye lid surgery etc. But when whites do it they get their lips, butts and other things done.
When whites begin going under the knife to get their eyes slanted or start putting on “yellowing” cream, then we can criticize them for going under the knife.
When Asians do it, it’s to enlarge their nostrils so they can breathe easier. Then they get criticized for it? Come oooon!
Because when asian people get plastic surgery done, it’s to have caucasian features. Don’t try to fight me on this, it’s the truth.
Caucasian people aren’t trying to look like another race, this is why it’s a little more accepted, i guess.
One thing is wrong, though, asian people do the plastic surgery absolutely not wanting to look white. They simply want to have bigger eyes.
In fact, when comparing to the population, only small number of people did the surgery, becasue not every single asians have smaller eyes and not all the smaller eyes asians want to receive surgery.
Actually, white and black people also receive plastic surgery, not only asian.
